T’was the Week Before Christmas

Unity Presbyterian Church,

The church staff is hard at work preparing for three Christmas Eve services and one Christmas day service. We can’t wait to celebrate the joy of our savior with you in a couple of days! For my blog today, I wrote a simple poem I hope will bring a smile to your face. This is the season of joy, after all.

Twas The Week Before Christmas

Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the church

Every creature was stirring, preparing for Christ’s birth.

The nativity was set in the chancel with care,

For soon the Christ child would certainly be there.

The congregation was nestled all snug in their pews

Ready to hear the story long promised for you.

And Pastor Dana in her robe and I in my stole

Prepared a series of services, ready to extol.

When in the hearts of every listener, a sign to behold

Jesus has come, for young and for old!

Up to to pulpit I sprang like a flash

To declare the good news, sure to make a splash.

A savior has been born, to you and to me

This news is for all people, all creatures agree.

People of Unity, be of good cheer

For the Christ child is now drawing near.

So Merry Christmas to all, may the season delight

For Jesus is here, and the future is bright.

I pray that this Christmas season is a delight for you as we celebrate together Jesus’ birth. We have three services on Saturday. A 4:30 pm service especially designed for children and families (but open to all) and a 7 pm and 9 pm traditional candlelight and communion service.

And we will have one service on Christmas day at 11 am.

See you on Saturday and Sunday! Merry Christmas!
