Year 1 of Artisan Church

One year ago Unity partnered with the Presbytery of North Carolina to start a new church in Lincolnton— Artisan Church.

Over the course of the year, God has formed a strong community of people who are engaged in weekly worship and growing deeper in faith. It has been incredible to watch.

Here’s a list of highlights from Artisan’s first year.

Year One

July 2021— Reed Conley agrees to be the Organizing Pastor. Reed and Jeanette, along with their four beautiful daughters, move from Florida to Lincolnton.

July/August— A Launch Team is formed. The Launch Team is made up of former First Pres. Lincolnton members, current Unity pres. members, and other interested people. They begin meeting weekly to pray and plan.

September 12— Artisan Church holds its first ever worship service!

Fall 2021— Artisan navigates the Delta surge and continues to make connections in the Lincolnton area. They begin hosting art shows in their space, featuring the work of local artists. They host weekly worship services, monthly Bible studies and every other week youth group. Reed enrolls in church leadership school through our presbytery.

Winter 2022— Artisan celebrates its first Christmas Eve service even as it must navigate the Omicron surge. The Conleys enjoy seeing snow— a rare experience for native Floridans!

Spring 2022— On April 17, Artisan celebrates their first Easter together. Reed presents at the spring Presbytery meeting.

Sept. 11, 2022— Artisan celebrates their one year anniversary with 38 people in attendance. They have a pancake breakfast after worship.

Clearly, God is at work through the community at Artisan. Over the first year Artisan performed six baptisms and made many new friendships. Please continue to pray for them as they head into Year 2.

Don’t forget– Wednesday Night Dinner! We had over 70 people attend our first dinner. Tomorrow we will serve tacos, nachos, queso, and refried beans (and cookies for dessert!) Bible study starts at 5 pm and dinner is served from 5:45 to 6:45 pm.

On Sunday we’ll continue our Strange Stories series. I’ll preach on a person who wants to be healed, but only on his terms.

See you on Sunday!
