Up Close

For the people who drew close to Jesus, everything changed.

That is the premise behind our new preaching series: Up Close. Throughout Lent, we will study stories of individuals whose lives were changed when they were up close to Jesus.

We all have a choice of how close we want to draw near to Jesus. For many, it is tempting to keep Jesus at arm’s length. Perhaps we feel safer or more in control when we keep our distance.

What would it look like for you to draw closer to Jesus?

We will study five stories in the Bible about individuals who decided to take a step toward Jesus.

Up Close Series

Feb. 18— Nicodemus, a Pharisee transformed into a disciple of Christ.

Feb. 25— The woman caught in adultery, transformed by Jesus’ mercy.

March 3— The woman suffering from bleeding for 12 years, transformed by just a touch.

March 10— The man with a withered hand, transformed by Jesus breaking the rules.

March 17— Simon of Cyrene, transformed by carrying Jesus’ cross.

All five of these people drew close to Jesus and their lives were never the same.
