Surely God Is In This Place

At the end of last week’s sermon I asked for the congregation to pay attention to the times that they “woke up” to God’s presence in their life. In Jacob’s story, he thought that he was completely alone; running from his problems and his troubles. As he slept in the wilderness with a rock for a pillow, God spoke to him.

Jacob realized that God had been there the entire time, and he had not realized it.

How often do we go through our life forgetting about God’s presence?

I issued a call to action for you to take a picture of a moment during your week when you realized that “God is here, and I wasn't even aware of it.” You have responded by sending me your pictures and sharing your “God Moments.”

Without further ado, here are the times when you recognized God’s presence in your life. (Please note- you may have to click "Load Images" or "Download Photos" to see the pictures, depending on your e-mail provider).

I took this last photo on the drive home after church on Sunday at the intersection of Unity Church Road and Business 16. I found myself reflecting on how grateful I am for Unity and for the blessing of this congregation. As I thought about the service on Sunday, I couldn't help but feel that "Surely God was in that place!"

Still have photos that you want to send? You can continue to e-mail them to me and we will compile all of the "God Moments."

See you on Sunday!
