The campus is beginning to change.
Due to your generosity through the success of the capital campaign, major campus projects are getting underway.
I want to take a moment to formally thank the members of the capital campaign committee: Cynthia Mashburn, Marty Smith, Debbie Dysart, Josh Gottfrid, Doug Phillips, Wade Wilson, Stan Joyner and Ron and Anna Wilbanks.
This team did an incredible job presenting a vision for the future of Unity’s campus. The congregation responded enthusiastically. With joy, we will get to see this vision start to be fulfilled over the coming months.
Here is a rough timeline of what you can expect over the next six months.
This Week
All the asbestos has been removed from the old chapel/offices and manse. The demolition of these buildings will start this week and continue over the coming weeks. Once completed, we will have a usable gravel lot where the old chapel/offices stood. In place of the manse, we will have a space that can be paved for additional parking.
Next Couple Of Months
Parking Lot: In the coming weeks, we will begin our work with a site engineer to design the new parking lot, and we hope that the process with Lincoln County can be accelerated so that this will be completed in early fall.
Playground: The design for the playground renovations is in its final stages. Once ordered, it will take 8-10 weeks to ship and 2-3 weeks to install. As you can see, there will be many exciting changes over the summer and into the fall. The speed of these projects will align closely with when capital campaign contributions are received. Thank you for your generosity toward these important projects.
Members of the Buildings and Grounds and Finance Teams will present an update on these projects in June and will plan quarterly updates over the next two years.
What an exciting time to be a part of this congregation!
God is doing big things through this church. Let’s buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Campus Beautification Day is this Saturday. Please meet in the picnic shelter at 8:15 am.
This Sunday is Mother’s Day. We will have a gift for all mothers and present a special Mother’s Day message.
See you on Sunday!
