Children and Youth

Our young people are nurtured in grace and are encouraged to participate as full partners in the life of the church; in worship, committee service, hands-on mission, and even by voting membership on our session.

We have a large and active ministry for young people ranging from high school down to toddlers. In addition to Sunday School at 9:45 a.am on Sunday mornings, our high school and middle school youth each meet on Sunday evenings for food, fellowship and service. They also enjoy various other events such as skiing, rafting, camping, bowling, lock-ins, retreats at Camp Grier, and of course the annual week-long Youth Retreat at the Montreat Conference Center.

Our kindergarten through fifth grade age children meet on Sunday evenings as well for food, singing, play activities, and a Bible program. They often use this time to work on musical plays to present to the congregation. And they have been known to take a week off to go bowling or skating. They also enjoy a week every summer at Camp Grier.

For two, three, and four year olds, we offer a weekday preschool that also includes a Mother’s Morning Out program for walking toddlers. We hold Vacation Bible School each summer for children up to and including middle school age.
