We laugh, we cry, we sing, we pray, we experience the depth of God’s love for us, knowing that grace is a real possibility in our lives. We do all of this together in worship.
We are a loud group. We have an adult choir, various adult ensembles, a children’s choir, and handbell choir, a brass ensemble, and a congregation with lusty lungs. And so our music goes out wide and high, much to our delight.
And we are a quiet group. When Carol tells a story, sometimes about someone she’s known a long time, sometimes about someone she’s just met, she weaves the story in and through the sacred text, and increasingly in and through our own lives. And when Carol weaves, there is only silence and the sound of her voice.
In the loudness we celebrate, and in the silence we participate. Through our worship together, God’s love is spoken to all.
