Worship

Worship with us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

We laugh, we cry, we sing, we pray, we experience the depth of God’s love for us, knowing that grace is a real possibility in our lives. We do all of this together in worship.

We are a loud group. We have an adult choir, various adult ensembles, a children’s choir, two handbell choirs, and a congregation with lusty lungs.  We enjoy bringing in musicians from the Charlotte Symphony for various occasions.And so our music goes out wide and high, much to our delight. We enjoy the use of media in worship, including video illustrations and teaching texts to enhance enjoyment and understanding.

And we are a quiet group. When Carol tells a story, sometimes about someone she’s known a long time, sometimes about someone she’s just met, she weaves the story in and through the sacred text, and increasingly in and through our own lives. And when Carol weaves, there is only silence and the sound of her voice. 

In the loudness we celebrate, and in the silence we participate. Through our worship together, God’s love is spoken to all.
