For the Week of
May 4, 2008

Worship This Week: Last week in worship we thought about faithful responses to the stress in our lives. We continue this reflection this week with Carol using the beautiful text from Isaiah 40. The opening of worship will be an invitation to relax into the gracious grace of God as Dustin and Rachel Stamey sing “Like Rain.” Also, at 11:00, the Unity choir offers a fabulous celebration of God’s creation with the anthem “Creator Rhythm.” We share the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at both services. Come and worship and bring a friend.
CPR Training: On Saturday, May 10, Ann Lampron will lead a CPR training class beginning at 9:00 am in the fellowship hall. Candy Hayes and Kim Barden will be on hand to serve as interpreters for the deaf and hearing impaired. Anyone interested in this free class should sign up on the table in the gathering area.
Preschool Jewelry Party: Stoneware Jewelry will be at the preschool on Wednesday, May 7 from 8:30-11:00am. 10% of all sales benefit the preschool. These make great Mother’s Day gifts, so come out and support the preschool!

Men’s Breakfast: The Men of Unity meet for breakfast on Sunday, May 4 at 7:30am in the fellowship hall. All men are welcome to join them for good food and fellowship.
Welcome Dustin! It is official- Dustin Stamey is the new choir director at Unity. Beautiful sounds flow from the choir room on Wednesday evenings. Dustin is ready to assign you a chair and a cubby. Now is a great time to join the Unity Choir!
Magazine Swap: We are starting a magazine swap to help recycle and reuse old magazines. Every 2nd Sunday we invite you to the gathering area between services to swap your magazines for others. Everyone is welcome to participate even if you don't have magazines to donate. Magazines that are not swapped will be donated to shut-ins, area retirement homes, hospitals, or properly recycled.
Flowers this Week: Flowers this week are given to the glory of God and in honor of the generous benefactor who provided scholarships for campers by the parents of Camp Grier participants.
Chronic Illness Support Group: Unity is offering a new support group for people with chronic diseases or conditions. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, May 6, at 10:30am in Carol’s office. This is open to the entire community and will be led by trained counselors and people with chronic illnesses. Everyone is welcome.
