Men’s Breakfast: The Men of Unity meet for breakfast this coming Sunday, July 5 at 8:15am in the fellowship hall. All men are invited for a time of good food and fellowship.
We had the pleasure of baptizing Evan Plemmons at the 11:00 service last week.
Worship this week. Carol continues our series on "Faith Practices." With a sermon entitled "GO" we will reflect on the importance and blessing of risk-taking mission. We will have an opportunity to listen as Chris Easterling tells us of the power of his recent trip to Nigeria with Samaritan's Feet.
Each July, we take time in our worship to give thanks to God for the incredible blessing of living in this country. The second half of our worship will be "Songs and Prayers for the Nation" which offers us a time to pray and to sing to God.
The Unity choir has prepared two special anthems and will be singing at both services. Come to worship and bring a friend.
The fourth and fifth graders along with the middle school class at last month’s Vacation Bible School made lap blankets, which will be donated to the residents of the nearby Lakewood Care Center. Pictured below are the young people holding the colorful blankets they made. see previous week

Music In the Interim: Many of you remember Jack Morgan, a dedicated member of Unity for many years. He's the one who made by hand the lectern in our chapel and was also a driving force in the purchase of the organ that we moved to our new sanctuary. He was always so delighted with the Prestige organ. He constantly reminded us that it had a feature that he wished we used more which is the capability of recording songs for worship. And so, this week, as we are beginning our interim period and search for a new accompanist/organist, with Dustin's help, you will be treated to the music prerecorded by a master organist in the area! We believe Jack will be smiling! Please be in prayer for our searchers as they move forward to fill the important positions of organist/ pianist and interpreter.
To Our Youth: Hello. My name is Erin Brissenden and I'm a new addition not only to Unity, but to the Denver area as well. I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you that I've set up a couple of get-togethers. For the middle school, I hope you'll join me for a pool party on Wednesday, July 15th. Make sure to "tune-in" next week for the rest of the details.
And for you high schoolers, how about a cookout on the lake? Kindly enough, Bud and Michelle Freeman have offered up their home so that we may eat and have fellowship. The cookout starts at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19th. To respond to the invite or if you have any questions, please call the church office (704-483-5266), email me (ebriss9499@yahoo.com), or find me on Facebook under Erin Brissenden. See you soon. Thanks, Erin
Confirmation Class: The new confirmation class will meet with Carol all next week. In addition to Bible study, they will be working on personal statements of faith and involving themselves in service projects. On Tuesday, the class travels to Montreat to visit the Presbyterian Heritage office and the Chapel of the Prodigal Son. We have ten wonderful young people getting ready for one of the most important commitments of their lives. Please remember them in prayer.
Applause for the Community Chorus: The front of the church looks different this morning! Unity will be the host for the Community Chorus' production, "Applause!" on July 16th at 7:30, July 17th at 7:30 and July 18th at 4:00 pm. We also hold rehearsals here on Tuesday evenings, so to save time and backs, we'll leave the front of the church this way until the concert is over. Be sure to come and applaud "Applause." Carol is directing; Rachel is dancing; Dustin is singing; many Unity members are singing and swaying and some of our children are dancing. Martha Geissler, our favorite violinist, is also a part of the cast! Mark your calendars!

A New Women’s Bible Study is beginning on Thursday, July 9 at 10:00am. Cost of the workbook is $12. Don’t miss these terrific opportunities to deepen your faith with other women from Unity. Sign up today!
Directories: Pictorial directories are available in the church office.
